Summer Program

Overview

All Clubs in Leon and Gadsden County offer full-day summer programs. We are offering two three-week summer sessions during 2010:

Summer Session I: June 14-July 2, 2010
Summer Session II: July 12-30, 2010

The days and times during which our summer programs operate are the same for each Club.

  • Leon and Gadsden County Clubs operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Activities and field trips vary from Club to Club. Please contact the Club your child plans to attend for more information about specific activities.

Cost

In Leon and Gadsden Counties, our current public and private funding sources do not completely cover the true cost of providing Boys & Girls Clubs programs to members, which total $30 per child, per day during the summer. Therefore, while the organization is able to cover a majority of the cost of membership, parents are responsible for the remaining cost based on household size and income. Please click on the link below for more specific information. Also, please contact the Clubs directly for more information.

Income Guidelines

*Please note that the fees listed in the chart above indicate the monthly fee per child during the school year. These fees double for full-day summer program participants, except for ELC members. All parents must also pay a $10 per child registration fee per semester (Summer Session I and Summer Session II). We offer a $25 discount for all siblings of each paying member, excluding ELC participants. For field trip safety reasons, all parents must purchase two Boys & Girls Club t-shirts for each child on an annual basis for $10.

ELC (Formerly Known As Arbor)

ELC is a state-subsidized child care program that can assist parents in paying for child care. In order to be eligible for this program parents have to meet certain guidelines. Families in which all adult members of the household work at least 20 hours a week and their pre-tax income falls below 150% of the federal poverty level may qualify for this assistance. Please contact the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend at info@elcbigbend.org or 850-385-0504 for sliding scale information.

To apply for the program, parents must call ELC directly and schedule an appointment to fill out paperwork. If you qualify, ELC will then submit a certificate to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend.

The following Boys and Girls Clubs accept ELC funding:
Greg McCray Boys & Girls Club (Leon County)
Boys & Girls Club at Bethel Family Life Center (Leon County)
Carrie Wilson Boys & Girls Club (Leon County)
Boys & Girls Club of Chattahoochee (Gadsden County)
Boys & Girls Club at Havana Elementary (Gadsden County)

ELC Contact Information:

Enrollment Process

To enroll your child in a summer program at one of our Clubs, you must first decide which Club you would like your child to attend. Click here to view our Club Locations.

After you have selected a Club, please contact the Club director to determine whether they have spots open for new members. If there is space available, you can then download the membership application here. Once you have completed the application and gathered all of the necessary paperwork, please hand-deliver your materials to the Club your child will attend. Materials cannot be faxed or mailed. You must deliver them in person, no exceptions.
